The Kult Horrorcast on Hiatus

The Kult Horrorcast on Hiatus

Listeners,

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce a hiatus to new episodes of the Kult Horrorcast. Though we have a cast, I have handled all the recording, equipment, engineering, editing, advertising, promotion, production, editing, website, feeds, and content management from the inception of this ‘cast in October of 2016. It has become more work than I can do on my own. I currently have 3 – 5 episodes worth of recorded audio waiting to be edited and mixed, but I honestly don’t know when I can get to it. For now, the podcast is on an indefinite hiatus. I can’t do it all by myself as a hobby and have room in life for things like family and career. If we begin rerecording episodes, we will pick up where we left off. Keep your feeds open as I will continue to work to get the existing recordings edited and mixed and then evaluate the future of the ‘cast. If we continue, it will be with a tech team of volunteers to help handle the load.

When we started in October, we figured we’d have maybe 100 listeners, as it’s such a niche. As it grew, I asked for help with things to take off some of the load on me, but those who were willing also didn’t have the time, or impetus to fully commit to something that was close to my heart. So, I have to choose between erratically recording and releasing, or setting it on hold for now until I can find people willing to help me produce this ‘cast. As of last count, we have around 450 active subscribers, and I hate to leave you in the middle of Taroticum with characters we’ve tried to bring alive, and hopefully with both levity in gravity in equal measure. I hope we’ve entertained you. I hope to continue to do so eventually.

Some times real life is a bitch, and you have to stop doing what brings you joy to tend to the things that allow you to survive. We value each and every one of you. Thank you for listening to our horror, and our jokes. I hope we’ve made you cringe and smile in alternate measure. The feeds will all stay live, at least until I can get the prerecorded sessions mixed and mastered. After that, I’ll see what options I have. With law school looming on my horizon, there is no way I can make this sort of time commitment without producing a podcast that doesn’t do your ears justice, or a website that we may as well move to Geocities (hah!). It’s been a hard decision for me to make, but the ones that matter are never easy.

Besides, even if we do podfade away and die, in Kult, death is only the beginning. Thank you for listening, and for your loyalty. Feel free to contact me at chris@horrorcast.online anytime. Oh, and…

Look behind you.

The Kult Horrorcast Episode 6 Problems

Hello everyone. As 44 of you know, only half the episode was available through our media host. They’re working on fixing that now. In the meantime, I’d uploaded the full episode to the episode post directly, and all 35 minutes of it is available HERE! So, go get the full episode and don’t miss out. Our next episode takes us into the Borderlands. Spread the news, tell your friends, share our content. Make us awesome, just you like you are.

Newest Podcast Stats from BluBrry

Here’s our newest set of stats from our media server. 223 downloads, not too shabby for going from knowing nothing about podcasting 2 months ago to now. We’re happy that at least 163 of you have downloaded us at least once. Thank you so much for your support. Remember to check out How You Can Help Us to continue growing our show.

Editing Episode 4 of The Kult Horrorcast

Editing of The Kult Horrorcast is Underway!

That’s right, I’m currently hard at work editing our next episode (Episode 4). We’ve got a backlog of gameplay, and I’m trying to get us caught up before the Christmas holiday, which I plan to spend sipping heavily doctored egg-nog in the hopes of seeing Santa Claus bring me new toys for the podcast for Christmas. Make sure to check out our How You Can Help Us page to see what your favorite players of Kult need to make your podcast experience better. As usual, tell your friends, subscribe to The Kult Horrorcast webpage for updates, and send us adrift on all your social media feeds. We love you, our listeners, and look forward to bringing you many more hours of free and premium Kult content. Join the 220 other listeners who have heard us on our journey to free the divine within ourselves while facing the darkness of our reality prison. Listen to us on Stitcher, TuneIn, Blubrry, iTunes, your favorite podcatcher, or you can catch all your episodes from our website. The choice is yours.

Episode 3 of The Kult Horrorcast Update

Episode 3 of The Kult Horrorcast is on the way!

That’s right. We took a little break for Thanksgiving, but the new episode is currently being edited. I expect it to be ready for publication by the weekend if my personal Razides don’t decide to consume me while I’m not looking. Although, secretly, I believe that they think that editing episodes of The Kult Horrorcast is certainly punishment enough. There will also be another recording session coming soon. As of now, we have enough material to publish at least 2 more podcasts of actual game play, and a special bonus episode for our Patreon supporters. That’s right, Gemma Holly has her first psychological evaluation. Also, out bonus episode 0 is up on Patreon right now for our supporters. Share us, like us, and help spread the word that this world is false, and remind people to take comfort in their illusions.

Hey, have you heard that the new Kult Divinity Lost quickstart rules will be coming out in about a week for their Kickstarter backers. We’ll have them in hand and we’ll tell you about them as soon as we can get the episode recorded and mixed. It will show up first for our Patreon subscribers, then it gets a later publication date for our blog subscribers before finally trickling down to our podcast feed for general consumption. We hope you enjoy our show as much as we enjoy making it. If you’ve heard an episode of our podcast, drop us a review. There’s subscription links on each podcast post, and we’re in the iTunes, Stitcher, TuneIn, and Blubrry podcast listings.

New Content and Some Changes

So, I got a friendly visit from Tiphareth last night. Her agent informed me that my web-foo was pretty bad, which is pretty bad since this is a WordPress site, and she brought me to two fatal wounds before I agreed to fix things. Also, she insulted my spelling. That was a near third fatal wound and the end of your beloved producer. So, many things are updated, and we’re now using a better subscriber plugin for managing your content access and subscriptions. If you had access to areas before and you don’t now, please click on the register link in the menu. Yay!

Also, I’ve begun uploading bonus content to our Patreon site for our patrons to enjoy. So, what are you waiting for? Go enjoy it!

Thanks,

Chris
